With the release of the new Free Wheeling special edition, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport will give consumers a taste of the good old days. Not only is the tiny SUV inspired by Ford off-roaders from the 1970s, but its boldly colored graphics and unique red-accented wheels are guaranteed to catch the eye of boomers and millennials alike.

1977’s Inspo
The limited-edition Bronco Sport is a contemporary twist on Ford’s 1977 Free Wheeling décor package. The kit, which was available for the Bronco, F-series trucks, and even vans of the time, included black bumpers, white wagon wheels, and tri-color body decals.
While the 2024 Bronco Sport Free Wheeling lacks black steel bumpers and white steel wheels, it does have reflective multicolored stripes on the hood, sides, and rear liftgate, just like its predecessors. A silver grille with contrasting Bronco writing sits alongside the black-painted roof. Some people will love the crimson pockets on the 17-inch wheels, while others will despise them.
Inside, the Free Wheeling version receives a similar sunset-inspired treatment, with eye-catching striping on the seatbacks and red highlights on the center stack and top door panels. As if it weren’t already evident, the center console trim contains a little plaque identifying each Bronco Sport as a Free Wheeling version.
Black Appearance Package
On the other end of the range, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport is now available with a Black Appearance option that exudes moodiness. The tiny SUV’s grille and Bronco lettering are totally blacked out with this option. The hood also has matte black decals to match the 17-inch wheels. The roof and exterior emblems are likewise black, and the inside gets a black appearance as well.
Pricing
The Bronco Sport Free Wheeling, like the Black Appearance package ($1750), is only available on Big Bend vehicles. It costs around $2500, with a base price of $35,325. Other modifications to the 2024 Bronco Sport selection include new Azure Gray and Desert Sand paint colors, which, for those curious, cannot be combined with the Bronco Sport Free Wheeling version.
