Published On

The performance-oriented tS trim level is returning to the Subaru BRZ range for the second generation of the rear-wheel-drive sports coupe. As previously mentioned, the package features brake and suspension enhancements, as well as improved looks and custom badging. Subaru unveiled the 2024 BRZ tS yesterday at the Subiefest event in California, and we now have plenty of photographs of the new model as well as information on its performance enhancements.

  • Subaru has introduced the tS, a new version of the BRZ for 2024.
  • It boasts suspension and brake performance enhancements, as well as new wheels and cosmetic accents.
  • Pricing should be available over the next few months before the 2024 BRZ tS goes on sale later this year.

Brembo Brakes and More

Brembo brakes front and rear, new 18-inch wheels, and a “STI-tuned” suspension arrangement with Hitachi dampers are among the major mechanical alterations. These are the same bigger rotors and improved pads seen in the Toyota GR86‘s new 2024 Performance package. The configuration boasts 12.8-inch front rotors and 12.4-inch rear rotors, which are 1.2 and 1.0 inches bigger than the factory GR86 and BRZ, respectively. However, the Subaru’s Hitachi dampers differ from the Toyota’s Sachs units, so tuning will undoubtedly differ between the two.

New Interior

The logo seen on the front and trunklid is the most noticeable visual difference for the BRZ tS. The brake calipers are gold, and the dark gray 18-inch wheels differ somewhat from the normal car’s. The tS’s interior features blue stitching and a blue leather accent on the seats, as well as STI emblems on the start button and instrument cluster.

The normal BRZ’s 228-hp 2.4-liter flat-four engine remains unchanged, but the tS only comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The tS will be available in all of the exterior color options offered on the 2024 BRZ. It will also have Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assistance capabilities, which will be standard on all 2024 BRZs with manual gearboxes.

The BRZ tS will go on sale later this year, with prices starting in the mid-$30,000 range.
