Mini’s array of compact cars and SUVs will be totally new beginning with the 2025 model year. That implies fresh exteriors, altered engine options, and an entirely new interior design. Mini‘s new interior design language, shown here for the first time in the new Cooper Electric hatchback, is inspired by the brand’s 1959 original but combines modern comforts and humorous elements.

Textiles, LEDs, and Much More...
A circular display panel with an extremely thin bezel serves as the centerpiece. There’s also a textile-covered dashboard with inbuilt LED illumination that lights up when you turn on the car. The lights may also change colors as you cycle through the various driving modes or alter the theme of the display panel.
Previous incarnations of the Mini Cooper had a panel of toggle switches on the dashboard, and the same concept returns here, but it’s been redone with simplicity in mind. A similar look is slated for the next Countryman SUV.
At a recent Mini preview event, critics were able to experience the Cooper’s new interior for themselves, and the cabin looks and feels more sophisticated and elegant than before. The material quality appears to be a step up over the existing model, and while the interior is essentially the same size and form as previously, it feels more roomy.
It is expected that manufacturing of the new Cooper and Cooper Electric will begin soon. We’ll also learn more about its powertrains and features as we get closer to its release date, which is slated for 2024.
